I lead the policy work of the British Ecological Society. We aim to act as an interface between ecology and policy, and ensure that policy is informed by science at different governance levels, including the devolved, national and European/global levels.
Our main objectives are the following:
1. To collect and summarise scientific evidence for policy makers;
2. To support ecologists so that they can influence policy developments that are relevant to biodiversity conservation;
3. To organise events and opportunities to bring ecologists and policy makers together.
