The Trends in UK Funding for Ecology

This report from the British Ecological Society, published on 23 March 2023, reveals that ecological sciences are losing out on funding compared to other sciences.

Analyzing changes in the amount of UKRI funding, the report highlights that while in many research areas funding has increased by 2.8 times between 2006 – 2021, funding for ecological research only increased 1.5 times – a worrying trend at a time when ecology has never been so vital.
