Isles of Scilly Seagrass - State of the Meadows 2023.
Abstract
This report presents condition data on seagrass beds in the Isles of Scilly as part of the LIFE Recreation ReMEDIES project (2019-2024). The project aims to enhance seabed habitats in 5 Special Areas of Conservation through restoration efforts, reducing recreational pressures and raising awareness. Drawing on 30 years of data from Natural England and external sources, it reviews the status of seagrass beds and incorporates findings from 2022 seagrass studies. The report provides recommendations for future monitoring, research and conservation initiatives, contributing to the overall objectives of improving seabed habitat conditions.
