NatureScot Research Report 1329 - Deer Vehicle Collision analysis 2019-2021.
Abstract
This report provides an update on the analysis of deer vehicle collisions (DVCs) in Scotland from 2008 to 2021, highlighting trends, high-risk areas, and potential mitigation strategies. Key findings include an increase in DVCs in the central belt, a decrease in northern Scotland, and the peak times and months for collisions. The report also suggests targeted mitigation actions, such as warning signs and deer management, and improvements in data collection methods to better understand and reduce DVC risks.
