Caffi Ecology: Who rules the waves?
The British Ecological Society’s Welsh Policy Group invite you to an evening discussion (what we have coined ‘Caffi Ecology’) on ‘Who rules the waves?’
We will be bringing together ecologists, policymakers and those who work in the marine sector of Wales to discuss how to navigate differing priorities for nature conservation and climate change mitigation.
We will operate under Chatham House rules to provide a space for frank and open discussion.

Agenda
- 18:00 – Arrival with tea/coffee
- 18:30 – Short talks from speakers working across the marine sector in Wales
- 19:40 – Break with vegetarian meal
- 20:00 – Discussion groups
- 21:00 – Event ends
Speakers include: Dr Jasmine Sharp (NRW), Dr John Idris Jones (Menter Mon), Dr James Waggitt (Bangor University), Prof Katrien Van Landeghem (Bangor University, Chloe Wenman (MCS) and Michael MacDonald (RSPB)
We will be supplying coffee/tea on arrival, as well as a small vegetarian meal in the break to fuel discussions – so you will only be able to attend with a free ticket. Please let us know if you need to cancel so that we can amend catering.
