Join us at our 2018 Annual Meeting!
We are delighted to announce that registration, abstract submission and helper submissions are now open for #BES2018!
This December, we invite you to join us and over 1200 international ecologists in Birmingham for Europe’s largest and most influential annual event dedicated to ecology.
Join our internationally renowned Plenary Speakers for a packed programme of diverse Thematic Topics, new interactive sessions, engaging workshops, cultural Post Conference Tours, the Conference Dinner, Networking Opportunities & more!
Registration
Earlybird registration offers significant discounts on your registration fee. To take advantage of these rates, you must book by the earlybird deadline: 17:00 (BST), Friday 19 October.
As a member of the BES, you will also be able to access significantly discounted registration rates. Membership to the BES can cost as little as £42 per year for ordinary members and £21 per year for students, so join today!
We also have Accompanying Person and Discounted Family rate tickets available.
Abstract Submission
We are now inviting submissions for oral and poster presentations. This is a great opportunity to present your research to a large international audience.
As well as the standard sessions, you can submit an oral presentation to one of the Interactive Sessions. The talks in the Interactive Sessions will form part of a wider discussion of the subject area, so they may be shorter than the standard 12 mins.
This year, as well as encouraging poster presenters to give a 1-minute lightning talk to promote their poster, we are introducing a limited number of interactive poster screens to present posters.
Thematic Sessions only include presentations from invited speakers. If you are an invited speaker, you will receive a separate email with a unique link to upload your abstract. Please do not use the public link.
The deadline for abstract submission is: 17:00 (BST), Monday 10 September.
Helpers
We’re looking for helpers to take part in our Annual Meeting. Being a volunteer gives you the opportunity to be involved with the Society behind the scenes at the conference – working with the venue, speakers, thematic topic organisers, and on various events taking place throughout the meeting. In return you get your registration fee reimbursed!
Applications are open now on a first come first serve basis.
We Listened!
Each year we ask delegates to feed back on their experience at our Annual Meeting. We are continually trying to improve our meetings and we want you to know that your feedback doesn’t go unheard. We’ve outlined some of the key points brought up in the feedback and what we’re doing to address these for this year’s event.
For more information on all of the above, please visit the conference website.
