Journal of Ecology Associate Editor Mentoring Applications
Following the success of Journal of Applied Ecology‘s Associate Editor mentoring scheme, Journal of Ecology is launching their own mentoring scheme.
If you’re less than five years post-PhD (excluding career breaks, see more details below), live in or are from the Global South, and are looking to gain hands-on experience with an editorial board then apply using the form below.
This scheme is designed to offer early career researchers a chance to learn about the Associate Editor role and gain editorial experience. Participants work with the Senior Editors who provide guidance on handling papers during a two-year training post. Further details about the scheme are available here.
We particularly welcome applications from women and minority genders, who are underrepresented on our editorial board.
If you have any questions about whether you are eligible, please email Sam Ponton at admin@journalofecology.org
Career Break Statement
Parental leave, ill health and caring commitments are included as an extenuating circumstances. The total time of leave will be deducted from the total time that you are post PhD. For example, if you are 6 years post PhD we would expect you to be able to show you had been off for nearing on a year in order to be eligible.
