Video production for social media, 26 April 2019, University College London, London.
This one-day practical training workshop led attendees through theory of the types and purposes of social media communications, the methodology of creating an audiovisual narrative, and techniques for audio recording, filming and editing on smartphones. The workshop will be led by Dr Amy Hong (University College London / Freelance Digital Producer).
Engaging with young children and families, 11 February 2019, Eureka! children’s museum, Halifax, West Yorkshire
A day within the marvellously interactive Eureka! children’s museum, this hands-on workshop was led by Chris Snowden (STEM & Public Engagement Manager at Eureka!). You can read a full report about the training and subsequent demonstrating at British Science Week in our blog article.
Event demonstrations workshop with Science Made Simple, 26 November 2018, Great North Museum: Hancock, Newcastle upon Tyne
Hosted at the Great North Museum: Hancock in Newcastle, we organised a free training workshop for BES members in developing live science demonstrations, presenting skills, and performance techniques. David Price from STEM communication experts, Science Made Simple, shared his essential tips-and-tricks for engaging the public face-to-face, and helped develop our attendees ideas for activities in a round table workshop.
