Charlotte Benham
I’m currently the Science and Research Projects Officer at The Tree Council – a nationwide charity and partnership organisation which brings together a range of organisations, communities and individuals to care for trees and our planets future. In my role, I support our science and research team across a variety of projects, including focuses on tree health and treescape strategies. These projects are frequently interdisciplinary, collaborating with partners and researchers across social and environmental science. Our work often involves working closely with Defra and government agencies like Forest Research, as well as stakeholders like local authorities and landowners.
Prior to this, my background was in biodiversity conservation and landscape ecology. I’ve worked previously in the Global Biodiversity Monitoring Unit at ZSL, and completed an MRes in Biodiversity, Evolution and Conservation.
