World Wide Views on Biodiversity: a chance for global citizens to have their say on biodiversity protection
An initiative has been launched which will see people from around the world participating in discussions on how to tackle the challenge of global biodiversity loss.
On Saturday 15th September 2012, at least 100 people from each participating country will attend day-long meetings to learn about biodiversity issues and to voice their opinions on them. All meetings will use the same agenda and approach in order to provide useful and comparable results as a tool for policymakers in making decisions on global policy for preserving biodiversity.
The meeting has been timed to inform the 11th Conference of Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, which is happening in India in October 2012.
